This page is for notes and history about Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, Blairstown, NJ. No-Be was the main camp for Bergen Council (formerly North Bergen County Council) since 1927. Bergen Council is now part of Northern New Jersey Coucil, and No-Be continues as a principal camp for that council.
No-Be-Bo-Sco sounds like an Indian name, but it is not. It is the first syllable of each of the words in "North Bergen Boy Scouts".
The official site, which for a while had a lot of historical information and pictures, is now limited to current summer camp information. That site is found at http://www.nobebosco.org/
However, a new site has arisen which is devoted entirely to historical images and discussions for and by No-Be alumni. Recommended! The site is http://www.sandpondsociety.org/.
I have uploaded a variety of staff pictures and pictures of other memorabilia from my No-Be days to the Sand Pond Society site.
